CLIENT: BOLT BURGER

OVERVIEW: The client came to us with the intent to start a new, short order, smash burger restaurant. Located in Bettendorf, Iowa right off interstate 80, across the parking lot from a 77-acre sports complex—the owner wanted a concept that resonated with the highly active, energetic audience who were routinely there for games and tournaments, but stood out from average sports-themed burger joints. The intent was to have a high-quality, short-order product, with limited seating in the restaurant and a brand that reflected both the speed and quality.

SOLUTION: In a crowded market how do you stand out from the crowd? With fast-food restaurants, local favorites and good-ole bar food, how do you create a unique brand of burgers that draws people in, creates excitement and wins customers? With a built-in audience at the sports complex, Bolt Burger introduces the perfect solution for those always-on-the-go families that value a quality product but need something fast for the team. A name was developed that emphasized the speed of the product. Visually, the brand was crafted to reflect the lively and energetic atmosphere of the area and stand out against the modern wood/steel architecture of the buildings. With a number of fast-food chains nearby, the brand had to stand apart. Using bolt—bold—colors and typography, energetic photography and proud statements, this little burger shop proudly claims a superior product that is shockingly fast and electrifyingly delescious.
